Fazlur Rehman Calls for Shake-Up in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Administration

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Administration

JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has suggested that a shift in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Administration is needed. Speaking at a press conference in Peshawar, he stated that the change should ideally come from within the ruling PTI party rather than from opposition forces. He emphasized that if PTI members themselves bring in new leadership, it would be a better and more stable approach.

He also claimed that the current majority in the provincial assembly is fake and resulted from rigging. However, to avoid creating political chaos in the province, he believes it’s best if the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Administration is reshaped internally.

Security Concerns and Political Frustrations Rise

Fazlur Rehman expressed concern over the growing insecurity in the province, stating, The common citizen’s life is insecure today. He also criticized both the federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Administration, accusing them of being products of electoral manipulation.

If contacted by opposition parties, JUI-F is open to holding an all-party conference to address the security and governance issues in the province. Senator Kamran Murtaza of JUI-F also voiced dissatisfaction with KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, citing his inappropriate behavior. Still, Murtaza clarified that the party does not want the provincial government to collapse but would welcome a leadership change from within the PTI.

FATA Merger Debate and Clarification by KP Governor

Fazlur Rehman questioned the motives behind the formation of a new committee concerning the former FATA region. He asked whether it was an admission of the failed merger or a move to exploit the area’s mineral resources. He stressed that his party was not involved in the committee’s discussions and would decide its stance after consulting a grand tribal jirga.

In response, KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi clarified that the committee’s purpose is not to reverse the FATA merger with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Instead, it aims to explore the revival of the jirga system in merged districts, as discussed during a recent visit by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir.

As political discussions intensify, all eyes are on what happens next in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Administration, especially with growing pressure from opposition parties and internal party disagreements. Whether PTI chooses to change its leadership or not, one thing is clear: the future of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Administration hangs in the balance.

PTI Faces Pressure to Reconsider Leadership Amid Internal Tensions

With rising criticism and questions surrounding Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s conduct, the ruling PTI is under pressure to address internal tensions. While the party holds a majority in the provincial assembly, growing voices within and outside the party suggest that a leadership change may be necessary to restore public trust. Insiders believe that making adjustments within the existing PTI structure could prevent a full-blown political crisis and preserve the party’s image ahead of future elections.
