Imran khan sons have applied for visas to visit Pakistan, sparking public and political discussions. The two brothers, Suleiman and Kasim, are making headlines as they await visa approval from the interior ministry. Their visit is tied to their support for their father, Imran Khan, who has been imprisoned since 2023.
Visa Application and Awaiting Approval
A few days ago, Imran khan sons have applied for visas at the Pakistan High Commission in London. According to their aunt, Aleema Khanum, the ambassador is now waiting for official approval from the Ministry of Interior in Islamabad. The government hasn’t issued a formal statement yet, but the process is reportedly underway. Despite holding British passports, both brothers also possess National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis, making them eligible for entry.
Political Intentions and Government Response
In recent months, Imran’s sons have applied for visas as part of a broader effort to campaign for their father’s release. They even visited the United States, where they engaged with lawmakers about Imran Khan’s imprisonment. However, the government remains cautious. Minister of State for Interior Tallal Chaudhry said they are welcome to visit and could receive visas in less than 24 hours, as long as they follow local laws. Still, legal experts, including the Law Minister, stressed that foreigners cannot participate in political activities in Pakistan and warned that visa violations could lead to cancellations.
Mixed Reactions from Political Circles
While Imran khan sons have applied for visas, political figures have shown mixed reactions. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif questioned why the government would even consider stopping them. PTI, on the other hand, denied rumors that Imran Khan had told reporters his sons wouldn’t come to Pakistan. Senator Irfan Siddiqui supported their right to visit, but emphasized that their actions must remain within legal boundaries. Aleema Khanum also pointed out that any harm to the brothers would draw international attention, adding more weight to their planned trip.
