Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has strongly denied any pressure from Washington to normalise ties with Israel, asserting that Pakistan’s policy remains firmly rooted in its foundational ideology.
Speaking at a prominent Pakistani-American community event in Dallas, Ambassador Sheikh reaffirmed that the nation’s approach to Israel is grounded in the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and longstanding national principles. Our policy towards Israel is consistent with Quaid-e-Azam’s ideology and is not shaped by foreign influence, the ambassador emphasized, putting to rest rumors of any shift under external persuasion to normalise ties with Israel.
Pakistan’s Foreign Policy Remains Principle-Based, Not Pressure-Driven
The ambassador’s remarks come amidst growing global speculation regarding Muslim-majority nations potentially moving to normalise ties with Israel. However, Sheikh made it clear that Pakistan will not follow suit until there is a just and lasting resolution to the Palestinian issue.
He reiterated that normalise ties with Israel is not on Pakistan’s agenda and such a decision will never be taken under external influence. Pakistan supported Iran’s right to self-defense during the recent Iran-Israel conflict and has no plans to reconsider its diplomatic stance unless the Palestinian people are granted justice and autonomy.
Crypto Potential and Strengthening Pak-US Ties
Apart from geopolitical topics, Ambassador Sheikh also highlighted economic progress, noting that Pakistan and the U.S. are expanding cooperation in trade, technology, and counterterrorism. He stated that Pakistan’s ample electricity reserves make it a potential hub for ventures such as cryptocurrency mining.
He further shared updates on Pakistan’s digital advancement, including the recent approval of the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA), and upcoming legislation for regulating virtual assets and launching digital currency pilots. These developments show Pakistan’s readiness to modernize its financial system.
Unity in Diaspora and Investment Hopes
Addressing the crowd, which included notable Pakistani-American figures and professionals, Sheikh’s reaffirmation that Pakistan will not normalise ties with Israel was met with applause. Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, speaking via video, echoed this message and also outlined Pakistan’s economic and tech-focused vision.
Dr Rao Kamran Ali, host of the event, along with Democratic leader Tahir Javed, also announced plans to invest in Pakistan’s IT and AI sectors. The event ended on a high note with renewed hope among the diaspora that Pakistan is on a steady path to growth, without compromising on its core principles.
Pakistan has clearly said no to normalising ties with Israel, even as many countries change their approach. This shows that Pakistan is staying true to its values, beliefs, and independent foreign policy. The country has made it clear that normalise ties with Israel will only be possible if the Palestinian issue is resolved fairly.
